I tried to call Proseries and couldn't get through. I have a return that has a single taxpayer (selected on federal, single 2024 as well) that has selected part year resident for Georgia. On the federal info wks, Section XI part time is selected.
The Georgia return has an error and the return form is requiring entering the dates of residency for the spouse (pink cells). This should not require input and should be blank because single was selected on federal. I believe this is a form error that needs to be corrected. The Georgia form shows single as filing status.
This problem doesn't exist on New Mexico, the other state filed. It shows single and pulls the federal data correctly.
Until they correct the issue, if you load in the same dates in the spouse category as you did for the taxpayer, does that clear the errors so that you can e-file rather than waiting two weeks for Intuit to fix it?
Good idea. It made the error go away. Hopefully they will fix it. I wish there was a forum post to report bugs in forms rather than having to call. Intuit are you listening???
We have asked for a bug report for years. Since it would save on calls to support, you would think it would be something that they would want to do. I guess the only reason to not post it, they must be afraid that customers will see how many issues there are out there and they are afraid of hurting their image.
Hi @GeorgiaRe Tired Thanks for taking the time to post in the Community about Georgia requiring the dates of residency for the spouse. We have given this to Support for review and will post an update when we have one.
Hi @GeorgiaRe Tired Thanks for the patience while Support reviewed this. They were unable to reproduce what is happening. Please reach out to ProSeries Support if you need further assistance with this. They would be able to take a look at it with you.
