This client is not self-employed but did claim mileage in 2017 as employer does not reimburse the auto expense. I tried to fill Form 2106 but mileage expenses do not transfer to Schedule A.
Is there any place either on Form 1040 or on Schedule A we can deduct the mileage expense?
Your input will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

No, that mileage can not be deducted anymore.

This sounds like a time for the employee to talk with the employer about a mileage reimbursement policy that at least covers part of the now nondeductible expense. It is deductible to the employer, but seldom of any tax benefit to the employee.
Tax Ohio is correct
Not deductible this year
