We have always e-filed extension requests for our U.S. citizen clients living abroad (most of them) at the beginning of June.
According to the page: https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/electronic-filing/help/filing-an-individual-extension-form-4... this would seem no longer to be possible and that extension requests not e-filed by the April deadline are to be sent on paper.
There appears to be no change in the IRS instructions on the Form 4868.
