How to set Home Base View as the target directory when copying or duplicating a file?

A HB view can't be a target directory. Where are the files in that view located? that would be the folder that you want as the target directory.

I don't understand. I have done this many times in the past - had the same file in the HBV, then renamed it to identify the amended return, but can't seem to do it now.
