Direct debit payments with efiling

Is anybody experiencing delays in direct debit of payments on efiled returns?  We asked for payments to be debited on 4/15/24 and finding that alof of clients have not seen it happen; Massachusetts and Maryland on state returns.

A lot of clients have not seen it happen, but a good number have seen it happen for those states?

Did you EF late in the day on the same day that you chose for Direct Debit?  Sometimes there's a timing issue with same day debits...if you chose 4/15 as the debit day but you didnt file until late on the 15th, it may not have picked up that same day debit date.

Maybe the taxing authority cash register draw is full and they need to find more space for all the $$   ca-ching ca-ching

Having the same issue with Maryland. Returns were accepted before the due date and direct debit payments were scheduled for 4/15. Nothing has been withdrawn for MD. IRS payments have been withdrawn so I know it's not a bank account # issue.
