Coin Collection Sold

I am sure this falls under Capital Gains/Losses but I am not sure how to report it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

On the 1099-B worksheet.

Enter the information but double-click the entry fields to get to an additional worksheet, where you'll look for Part III and you should check the box for "collectibles".

Date and amount of coin collection cost

Date and amount of coin collection sale.

Hopefully all are either  long or short term

Most numismatists, including myself, have been collecting for many years, so it may be a challenge adding up cost basis.
