Claiming EIC for a child but not child tax credit

Hank

I have a client that is the custodial parent and is releasing the child tax credit to the father of the child.  I have indicated that the child does qualify for the EIC and that they are not a dependent.  The return appears to be calculating correctly but the child is showing up as dependent on the 1040 with no box checked as far as child/other dependent.  It appears to be a system glitch that I did not have previously so I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem.

Thanks.

What code are you using for the dependent  L, O, N or Q ?

I have same situation for a client - child is not showing on 1040       I use code Q

I am also using code Q.  Very strange.

If this was a file you transferred in early January possible there was a program glitch.  Are you too far into data entry to delete file and retransfer ?

There is not a whole lot going on with the return so I could do that and see if helps.  Thanks for the advice.

remove that dependent line (right click, delete line in table) and re-enter it maybe?
