Cannot Efile federal return if electing to use prior year earned income for EIC and ACTC

I have a client who is electing to use their 2019 earned income instead of 2020 earned income to calculate the EIC and ACTC.  Proseries is indicating the return cannot be electronically filed.  Filing a paper return at this time will take months to process the significant refund.  Will Proseries/IRS be updating the software so these returns can be electronically filed?

We're guessing this will be corrected at some point to allow Efiling, so far no official word though.

Thanks Lisa - that is what I figured.  These are large sums to low income taxpayers so they certainly don't need to wait 16 weeks for their refunds having to paper file.

They may have to wait 16 weeks anyway, if the return doesn't make it through the IRS filters after e-filing.
