I run ProSeries on the Admin Workstation, accept the UAC prompts to run, continue to work but would like to log off and let Task Scheduler run in the background with no user logged in. I understand the workstation has to be left powered on, but it was not clear if the user has to remain logged in.

I don't believe anybody would need to be logged on.
If you choose log off in Windows, that will end all processes and programs that are running, including task scheduler, so it will not run overnight. Instead it will run once the user logs back into the machine. If you just lock the machine without logging off, task scheduler will still be able to run.
