@Kathi_at_Intuit Has there been a case opened for the asset sales worksheet summary tables at the bottom of the worksheet in Proseries 2025 not including items from the "Form 8949 Reporting Exception Transactions" table?
In Proseries 2024 and several prior years, they were included in the summary table so that we could match the 1099-B to the data input. Now they are not included, so it is not functioning as a "Brokerage Statement (Form 1099-B/1099-DA or substitute) Summary Table". It is functioning as a summary of the items entered in the "quick entry table."
Also, on the "Form 8949 and Schedule D Totals" table, the items for Sch D, Line 1a and Sch D, Line 8a, are no longer populating (again from the Form 8949 exception transactions" data entry) and the code W for wash sales entered as wash sales for Box D in the quick entry table show up in Box G rather than Box D.
Thanks!
Hi @BethP Thanks for the tag and bring this to our attention. We gave this to development for review and were told that this is still in progress and will be updated in a future release of the program.
Also, no way to check your work when you enter values in the Form 8949 Reporting Exception Transactions boxes unless you only have one brokerage as the values show on Schedule D.
If you have more than one brokerage asset sales worksheet and use the above, then everything gets aggregated on Schedule D and no way to check each brokerage entry values to double check your work. Hope the fix is soon as of this date 2/11/26 no fix or update and the brokerage firm 1099's are flowing in with some major work stopage now because of this.
Hi @snappy Thanks taking the time to post this in the Community and for the added information. This has been passed along to development an they are working to fix this.
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to ask about when it will be fixed and for giving feedback on this concern. We have shared the feedback with the appropriate team and at this time we do not have an eta on a fix. We will update this post when we have more information.
Thank you for the update on the Asset Sale worksheet for the totals at the bottom. HOWEVER, the totals do not include Boxes A and D summarys that you can enter at the top of the input form (section is called Form 8949 Reporting Exception Transactions). Please add these amounts to the totals at the bottom summary of all boxes in the Brokerage Statement Summary Table.
Susan, you/re correct that we don't know yet if they'll fix it yet. IMO, it was the best feature of their asset data entry. The excel workaround is still going to be a time consuming nightmare. Especially next month.
.... anyone wanna start a thread and put it in the (unmonitored) suggestion box?
they have to stop trying to fix things that weren't broken to begin with - you are inputting everything in reverse order of the 100-b. Work on the forms that are new and stop messing around with the ones that work.
It has been over a month since this problem was reported to Intuit.
This is a huge problem in preparing and reviewing returns. Having to use Excel and other reconciliation methods to review returns is time consuming, frustrating, and unnecessary.
I am tired of the pass the buck responses.
When will this be fixed and why has it taken so long?
I am really questioning the accuracy of the 2025 software. I really don't think you care about your customers either.
INTUIT, GET IT TOGETHER !!!
I agree that this has been a nightmare. This is absolutely our final year with Proseries. Everytime you call, all they offer is "workarounds" instead of providing customers with quality software. But yet, they have no problems charging for quality software. I encountered another issue with the new asset sale worksheet. When you report 8949 box H, software reads it as a non-digital sale and triggers an error. But Box H is a digital sale. And when I call support? "As a work around, just report it with another code and attach the PDF." Really? I'm paying for this? No thanks.
Hello! We understand how frustrating this has been and we appreciate you bringing this discussion to the Community. Development has been working to improve the experience and update the program. A release will be coming soon. We will update the post when it has been released.
Kathi and ALL,
The update today, 3/4/26 has now incorporated the Form 8949 Reporting Exception Transaction summary data in a Brokerage Statement Summary Table towards the bottom of the Asset Sales Worksheet page.
However, for whatever the reason, the Adj Gain/Loss is not being displayed in the Form 8949 and Schedule D totals below the above.
It certainly is an improvement, and I really appreciate this one summary table having the information that is important to see.
Thanks for the heads up. It's better than nothing, I suppose. There's a new quick entry sheet . I wonder if that's what was holding up the fix.
Hi @snappy Thank you so much for letting us know that the Summary Table update is now available in the program. There was an update released yesterday that included this change, and we were waiting for confirmation.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding the table and have shared it with our Development team for further review.
Thanks again for taking the time to post an update for the Community.
