Asphalt Roof Energy Credit

Are asphalt roofs ("cool" asphalt shingles) limited to the 30% (max $1200) Energy Efficiency Credit?

I wasn't sure where to enter the roof improvement so I placed it under Insulation Material for the Energy Efficiency Credit. Does anyone know where this should be entered and what the credit should be for roofing?

This one gets very tricky.

Look at the dates, when you read stuff. You linked to something dated April 2021. Some of it no longer applies. Look at the wording, too. "Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit" is changed to "Residential Clean Energy Credit." The new name is under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Try these:

https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/residential-clean-energy-credit

https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/home-energy-tax-credits

Only solar roof tiles qualify for 2023 and they'd be part of the solar credits, thats why you dont see a place for roofs.

Did you read that page in your link?  Where do you see anything that indicates that roofs still qualify?
