Is it a technical error issue though? I did put all information correctly to make sure there are no errors on sight unless I have to go back and check 😓
I guess I understand so the best thing for now is to wait until Feb 3rd? 😞
Thanks for the help and no I will not mail it. I'll keep in touch when the solution is solved! I hope my refund will go through I was nervous and scared! 😨
I am getting the same rejects. This was not happening yesterday. That means almost none of my work can't be submitted until Feb 3!
@IntuitGabi can you find out anything about this rejection that just started?
I have spoken to a few other preparers who do not use Pro-Series. They are not having the same problem. I think this is a proseries error. It needs to be fixed NOW!
I just spent over an hour with tech support about this issue. After doing a 'refresh update' from the 'Update' tab, the issue still isn't fixed.
If this issue has to remain unresolved for 6 days, I'm not sure how you guys feel about it, but I am outraged that Pro-series isn't understanding the ramifications this has on our businesses:
no revenue, delayed returns, disgruntle clients....oh and NO REVENUE.
Again, this is completely unacceptable and should be resolved IMMEDIATELY. We pay for the best and, therefore, we should not be losing clients to subpar competition from yet another bug with this software at the start of the season.
Welcome to ProSeries. Their program for this year is the worst yet and there has been some really bad ones. I am twenty year plus user but this year will be the end. Why pay $4K plus for a program that is never ready or fully functional.
Their general MO is to let you think the problem is the IRS, State agencies, and/or your machine. They never stand up and admit it's there lack of preparation or problem.
i'm getting the same error spoke to a specialist in the live chat and she told me to wait until feb 10 for the resolve and i want to file now because this is happening to both me and my fiancé's tax returns we are afraid that his ex will file the kids before we do since we have domiciliary custody of them and maintain them 100% i'm wondering will she be able to file them since we are being rejected
Are you using Pro-Series?
If its Charitable donations and its only the $600 deduction for MFJ, why not just pull it off and re-submit?
Because that's not the problem. It's a coding error in the program from Pro-Series.
then help me understand. If there is no charity then there is no problem, correct? Is the error occurring because there "is" a charity deduction?
I have a few that have the charity on page one. I have not efiled anyone as of yet so I am trying to understand the issue here.
You will not get an error message. You will only get the reject code after you efile. When you open file to correct for reject code, you will still not see an error. Again, this is a backend issue with the software. It is not an issue with IRS.
But this reject code happens if there is charitable contributions? What if there are no charitable? I hope I am not being to dense here.
The resolution is the following:
If you have Charitable contributions limited (Schedule A, line 14), lower the total Charitable amounts until it is not limited. Re-save and e-file. Problem solved!
Also: Shout out to Derrick in Tech who solved this problem when NO ONE ELSE was able to notice it.
I got an answer to the same from someone else.
Seems its not a widespread unless you have the limitation. I feared the reject was a larger problem. Whew!!
Thanks for checking back and explaining fix.
We're working on this!
Thanks all for following up.
This worked for me! So glad someone finally found a resolution to this.
I just checked yesterday, the fix has been bumped to 18 Feb now. Very disappointing. I filed early to beat the rush, and now I am waiting for a solution that keeps moving to the right.
I just tried again this morning and now it says I have to wait until February 18th. Da fuq?
I posted the solution days ago. Read the thread!
I did read the entire thread, and I appreciate your taking the time to share an idea that will likely help many people. However, your solution does not work for my particular situation -- hence I am anxious for Intuit to get their act together and fix the root cause of the problem.
Sorry for asking a dumb question but my date also changed from the 10th to the 18th and I read this response so I'm trying to fix it now but this is the first time ive had to really file my taxes this hardcore and ran into this problem so I'm trying to make the change as so my next question is where do I go to lower the charitable amounts?
Does anyone know if this will be fixed the 18th or if it will be put off again? I did read the "fix" in the thread but just because it cleared the reject doesn't make it correct.
How do you know what the limit is?
After being rejected a few weeks ago and told to resubmit on Feb 18, I resubmitted at 12:03am on Feb 18, and it was accepted 49 minutes later!
Did you make changes or fix it, or did you just re-file?
Re-filed without any changes.
