2 (at least) bugs in 2025 ProSeries. On the two year summary in the 2024 column the program is adding ALL state and local taxes without applying the $10,000 limit, so the numbers look screwy because it does apply the limitation in computing taxable income, but does not apply the limitation on the line labeled "Total Itemized Deductions". This leads to client question "Why didn't I use itemized deductions when they were greater than my standard deduction?"
Number 2, on the carryover worksheet, in the section that shows 2024 state estimated taxes paid after 12/31/24, it is showing ALL the 2024 state estimated tax payments, regardless of whether they were paid before or after 12/31/24. I can only pray that someone from ProSeries reads these rants so they fix the bugs.
Hi @Rhoder19 Thanks for posting in the Community about the 2 bugs in ProSeries. We would recommend reaching out to ProSeries Support directly as they are best equipped to assist with this. They would be able to remote in and have a file sent in if need be.
My experience with support is they are not really interested in hearing about things like this. When I speak with someone and suggest they pass it up the line so it gets fixed they don't sound like they can or want to do that, and I should just post something online in the community about it. Since these aren't fatal flaws I'll just live with them until (if) someone at Intuit thinks it's important enough to address.
