10K maximum tax deduction also holds for Form 1041?

I don't do many 1041s. The 1099R that went into an estate because no beneficiary was named had state taxes withheld of 35K. When I tried to use it as a deduction, the software reduced it to 10K. I assume (due to my ignorance) that the same 10K maximum for taxes applies to estate income tax returns?
