Can 1099B broker name show up in Client Checklist? If yes, do you know how it can be done? Because I need it to show up, just like 1099 Interest and Dividend does.
I dont think it will, since the brokerage name doesnt show up anywhere on the printed return, whereas the Interest and Dividend descriptions we type in do appear on the Sch B.
Certainly would be a handy feature though.
Maybe I live in a different world, but I never see a separate 1099B from a broker. I normally see it as part of the 1099 providing the interest and/or dividend detail. So, if the brokerage firm has provided a 1099 INT or 1099 DIV, the 1099B is also there.
rare, but i have seen standalone 1099-B's.. usually when the stock is owned somehow directly with the company and not through a brokerage firm. UPS and IBM comes on mind as ones I have seen.
