Frequently when trying to import W2's, I get the... we don't support this company yet, which is fine. But today I had two of them that I could import... hurray!
BUT... both the printed copies of the W2's had the SSN masked except for the last 4 digits. This isn't my return, I don't have the client's SSN memorized so I had to go over to the general info for the client, copy the SSN for the spouse, then go back to the import screen. Utter pain in the tucus and very inefficient.
Suggestion - Make it so that for verification for import, you only need to enter the last 4 digits of the SSN... those are available on nearly every W2, even those where the first 6 digits are masked. Since part of our job should be a quick double check of all the import data, we'd find out if it was wrong. PLUS, if it's wrong on the W2 (employer error) we'd never be able to import it.
Anyway... that's my nickel idea.
