I own a bookkeeping company, and am a CPA. My mother has the IRS preparer number and prepared taxes using my business. I do assist with review, but she completes all of the e-file and authorizations. This year, the changes in user access made it so the advanced user fee was automatically applied to my account instead of hers, and I had to pay a second fee for her
I think this is a mistake in programming. Our firm should be able to have only one advanced user and half the cost.
Consider allowing this default to be changed. I was told that the only work around would be to make my mother primary admin, but that doesn't work since tax is actually a smaller portion of our business and she does not handle bookkeeping.
I think more flexibility with these setting is warranted.
