Where to input Deductible State and Local Taxes Carryover in Proconnect

Case: I have a new client who provided me with a copy of his 2023 individual tax return. On the "General Info" page, there is a "Carryover to 2024" section that lists Federal Carryovers – Deductible State and Local Taxes: $11,000.

Question: Could anyone please tell me the specific input location for this deductible state and local tax carryover in ProConnect? Thank you very much!

It is not really a carryover. Just a "hey pick up this deduction" on the 2024 tax return note. Schedule A Itemized deductions State and Local tax

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Sounds like a payment of 2023 taxes made in 2024 -- could be estimated, with extension, or with return. Figure out which and enter as applicable.

Thank you, I'll check if there's more information that explains what it is.

Thank you for sharing this with me. So, as long as the amount appears on Line 5a, 'State and Local Taxes,' under the 'Taxes You Paid' section of Schedule A (Itemized Deductions), it should work, right?
