When a taxpayer lives in CO in the tax year and moves to IL during the current year how do you get the software to print the CO return instead of IL.

In Profile - ONLY INCLUDE STATES WITH INCOME FOR THE YEAR BEING FILED.

I am speculating that no IL income was received, so only CO should be in the profile, even though the filing address is IL.

Sounds like you should have two part year returns

The more I know, the more I don't know.

Add CO not IL. Indicate state of residence is CO.

The income was earned in CO. Yet the tax was paid in IL. Two returns are required, taxes are paid to IL.

Thanks for the input.
