have read the post about 8843 & Lacerte here:

@itonewbie : Your replies are very very helpful & cut thru the BS. I am hoping that you will see this post.
I want to switch to Lacerte, but whats holding me up is the inconvinience of EFiling 8843 compared to ProSeries.
I have been using ProSeries Professional (Not ProTax Connect) &
a. successfully add 8843 input form, input the data in that form
b. successfully E-File it along with 1040NR
Can I do the above 2 things in either Lacerte or ProConnect ?
I am aware that 8843 is NOT a tax return form & is an Information form.
ITONewbie is not in the community and that is a great loss to it.
Lacerte does not directly support 8843. Create it with IRS fillable form and attach to the Lacerte 1040NR.
So, the answer is YES. Lacerte approach to input is very different from ProSeries, but it can do everything ProSeries can do. ProConnect is very similar to Lacerte, but IMHO much clunkier and has fewer bells and whistles. ITONewbie has left the community. He was a real asset.
I can confirm that what he said applies to Lacerte. Form 8843 is not directly supported. Use the IRS fillable PDF and attach it to the return.

Sad to hear that ITONewbie is not in the community now. Oh well....
@George4Tacks : Thx for sharing the product compare. I am very focused on 1040NR when comparing Intuit products (& Drake also). I will start another discussion on my other 1040NR specific questions to avoid mixing up topics.
