How do I upload a new client's prior year (paper) return ?

Unless you are David Copperfield, you can't

The pdf copy of the return can be uploaded to the Intuit Link portal. Click on the client name in intuit link. Then when the window opens up, select act as a taxpayer. Upload the document under the document checklist. The client will find this document under the "To Firm" folder.
