Form 8962

I had a filing rejected for a client with a message that Form 8962 must be included. Client is a 24 year old, single, non-dependent friend of the family who initially advised that she had health insurance for 2024 under her parents until going on her employer plan in October. Went back to the client and discovered they had a 1095-A that she was able to forward. My question is how do I complete the 8962 in Proconnect so that her parents return reconciles the APTC? Everything I've read or tried is resulting in critical diagnostic alerts.

If the parents are going to be allocated 100% and your client 0%, you may need to attach the 8962 (and/or a written explanation that your client is being allocated 0%) as a PDF, and call it "ACA Explanation".

Would this affect the ability to e-File? Proconnect is gicing me critical diagnostic alerts regardless of how I try to complete the 1095-A and 8962. Very frustrating.

The attachment (specifically categorized as "ACA Explanation") is what should allow the e-file.

Now I am getting this message. Can I not e-file this return?

Form 8962 Reject: For electronic filing purposes, enrollment premiums or advanced payment of PTC must be entered on Form 8962, Part II, line 11 or lines 12 through 23. Since a shared policy allocation does not include these calculations, this will cause an electronic filing reject. This return will need to be paper filed. US - Ref #58459
