I am trying to enable Ohio taxes for Butler county.
Taxpayer has a W-2 ($90k) and some S-Corp income ($4k).
I completed all fields for the federal return, but the RITA taxes are coming through as exempt, which does not appear correct.
He works from home in Butler county.
Can someone provide guidance on how to enable?
@Jim-from-Ohio maybe Jim can help you.
in ohio.. there is
1. ohio state tax
2. some muncipalties have a local tax
3. some school districts have a school tax
there are no county income taxes. ohio has county property tax but that is not part of income tax
I used the address finder on the Ohio website and Warren county came up as the relevant county, however, it lists the tax as N/A.
Curious if ProConnect has checks in place for all of these taxes and how to enable. I have read a lot of taxpayers file directly through the Ohio / RITA website
that address finder is normally correct but I have seen errors in it and if you want to be sure there are no muncipal taxes (local) or school taxes a better look up is to do a property search at the county auditor's site and look at the tax bill.
