Does anyone know how to resolve US - Ref #56438 in ProConnect? Typically, I just have to note "Foreign US" for the foreign partner and I am able to e-file.

Now using "Applied For" is no longer an option, I get a critical error.

@IntuitGabi  could get us some help. The article mentioned above does not seem to be working. Maybe you can get someone higher up the food chain, since support does not seem to be of much help.

Those foreign partners are required to have an ITIN if they are not eligible for SSN.

Intuit's suggestion to use "Applied For" is misplaced because ITIN application should then, indeed, be submitted for each of those partners.

The IRS probably tightened the MeF rules to now reject returns without a valid TIN.
