my client encounters authentication failure when I sent them the returns for e-signature
For various reasons, the authentication process that is required for e-signature may not work for all clients. In that case, the easiest option is to revert to using a "wet signature", which means printing and the e-file authorization form(s) and physically signing them. If they're a remote client, you can have them print and sign it, then send you a scan or photo of it which you should save as evidence of them having signed it.
