Twice now in the last couple weeks, the most recent being today 4/9/2024, Proconnect has sent 1040 clients the 8879-TE instead of 8879 with the e-sign request. It sends the correct state 8879, but the federal is wrong (note that neither clients have anything to do with exempt orgs). In both cases when I send a new request it includes the correct 8879. The problem is intermittent, new, infrequent, and I have not found anyway to reliably reproduce it. It looks like there was a similar bug in Lacerte that was fixed a couple weeks ago, but as of 4/9/24, it is still an intermittent, and aggravating problem with Proconnect.
