Critical Error: - California requires a county be included for the principal residence when the address is the same as last year or the principal State of residents is CA. CA - Ref #55152
Taxpayer was not a CA resident at time of filing. If I put a 2 in box "Principal/physical resident address same as the address in the scannable section of form 540, page 1: 1=yes, 2=blank [Override]" it takes away the critical error but then it doesn't seem accurate (as the address is the same as the one listed in the top (out of state address).
FWIW.... this is used for voter registration information.
If your client isn't still in CA, I don't think this will make any difference at all. Unless maybe s/he tries to vote in CA ??
Okay, good to know. They will be no longer voting in CA
Maybe I just let it go and keep that whole section blank.
