This solution addresses an installment payment plan (long-term payment plan), which triggers Form 9465, not the short-term payment plan (i.e., payment within 120 days or less).
We prepared the form. The taxpayer must propose what they can/want to pay. Based on the amount, it would be short-term or long-term. This is just an application. From what we saw, the IRS will finalize any agreement with the taxpayer.
