incorrect date of birth

I entered the tax payer DOB incorrectly on 2018 return.  The refund was approved, but the funds still have not been released.  Do I need to do an amended return to correct this error so they taxpayer can receive the refund?

It the return was approved, the DOB shouldn't have been an issue.  When was the return filed?
