Filing 1040-X with PDF Attachment

I'm filing a 2024 Amended Federal return and am trying to attach a PDF with documents and calculations supporting the 1040-X explanation.  I can't find the 1040-X or statements to link the PDF to and have tried linking it to "Main Form - 1040 - 5 Other", "Other - 48 Other" and also tried not linking to a specific form.  Each time I submitted for e-filing I have gotten the same IRS rejection:  

Error Message: An XML document that represents a binary attachment must have a valid reference to an attached file.

Solution: Please review the PDF attachment sent and make sure the description, filed form attached option, link to form, and activity number are correctly entered. PDF attachment can be viewed. On the other hand, do not attach a PDF if it is not required. If necessary, make the appropriate change and re-submit this return electronically. TIP: Please make sure to check "Send PDF attachment with Federal Return" to "Yes" if attachment may be included in the federal return or "No" if attachment should be excluded in the federal return.

What do I need to do to correct this?

Hi @kdroeder  Here are some troubleshooting tips you can try.  There could be an issue with the PDF file itself. We recommend contacting ProConnect Support so we can take a closer look.

Thank you for your help.  I contacted customer support, and we concluded that the only route to e-file the 1040-X was to remove the PDFs.
