We have been holding our SCorp and partnership returns in NC waiting for NC to make a decision on how to handle PPP loans. This may not be done by the Federal Sept 15 due date (the NC due date is October 15). We would like to avoid having to amend the NC returns based on legislation if possible. My question is can we efile the Federal return only by 9/15 and then efile the NC return on it's own later? We have done this with individual returns, but never for business returns. Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks,
Lisa Galvin

NC is shown as either Piggyback OR Standalone, so it should be a yes. I do not believe that there is any discrimination as to type of return, i.e. if you can do it for Individual, that should apply to any other type of entity.
