Extension rejected by IRS because a tax return for the taxpayer's ID# has already been filed and accepted by the IRS. Do I know send in a paper extension with the rejection explanation from Intuit?
Should Form 14039 be sent with the paper form 4868?

The client said that they did not.
A paper extension is your only option now.
I think the 14039 goes to a different address though....you may even be able to fax it in (assuming that fax line is back up and working)
