I left off the withholding on a client's return, which made the condition zero on a W-2. This was a $10,000 client, including other returns. Because of my mistake, he fired me. I am suggesting two things: 1.) make a diagnostic error when the W-2 withholding is zero so this simple error can be eliminated.
2,) I would like to know how many inputs did i populate in preparing this return. I see in batch mode the lines, but it does not include the client information. Why cant these inputs be counted and totaled somewhere for the entire return?
The client said " you only had to input a dozen or so items ". I would like to have shown him the estimated 300 or so inputs on all his returns.
Thanks for the idea to make a diagnostic when the w-2 withholding is 0 and to add count inputs and totaled per return. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it has been around for over 30 days and no longer considered "New".
