Tax Reconciliation Report

I find it unbelievable that one of the reports for the Individual Tax filings does not include a reconciliation on how the TAX amount was computed amongst the brackets and preferences.

This is the most important number on the entire tax return and Lacerte does not show how it's compute, yet it is computed.

I worked with Ultra Tax for over 20 years and this report was vital.  So why doesn't the Lacerte team create this report?  It's all being computed in the background, why not put on paper?

I urge that you consider my request.

Thanks for the idea to have a report for how the tax amount was computed amongst the brackets and preferences. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it has been around for over 30 days and no longer considered "New".

This was implemented for the 2023 tax program as a worksheet for Form 1040, line 16.
