Automate client notification of IRS acceptance

tkowal

Other tax software will automatically email the client when the IRS accepts their return, INCLUDING TURBO TAX. This is a huge time savings in tax season to avoid having to email every client their acceptance documentation when it can happen automatically as with other Intuit tools.

Why do you need to e-mail your clients that information?  When my clients leave the office, they know their return is going to be processed promptly.  I've never had anyone calling to see if their return had been accepted yet.  Turddotaxx needs to do that since the person filing the return is both the preparer and the client so someone needs to know the return has been accepted.

We tell clients their return is going to be filed but they still call and want confirmation. We also acquired another practice this year and they have been emailing notifications to their clients manually and are looking for ways to keep clients informed and us efficient.

Many years ago I used to send those acceptance letters to clients.

Then I realized no one cared so I stopped.

I get a request for one once or twice a year. Then I send it.

This should be an option for those that want it.  I have many clients that like to know that their tax return was filed (it's called "trust but verify").

This would be great to easily integrate printing the letter to IPM to send to the client.

The taxpayers that self-file receive those acknowledgements so they know their return was accepted or rejected because they do not have a preparer taking care of those issues.

If you really want to send it to the client, send a pdf of the 9325 to their email.

I agree with everyone else that most clients do not care about acceptance notices, I've never been asked for one. I feel lucky if the client makes it to their car without losing the tax paperwork folder they just picked up from my office, and some of them haven't. 😊

While I agree not many clients actually care to recieve the final IRS acceptance notification, we were thinking it could be a great tool to use to ask for a comment or review . . .marketing technique.  And if it was automated and we could customize the message sent out, you could include a link or something of that nature.
