I attempted to e-file extension for a 1040NR, and it was rejected by Lacerte because taxpayer listed a domestic address rather than a foreign one. I recommend that Lacerte allow the e-filing as such since the IRS has always accepted such filings. In my research i did not fidn a prohibition against using a domestic address in a 1040NR. I hope that this is corrected soon since we are now ready to e-file several 1040NRs using domestic addresses.
Thanks for the idea to allow a domestic address for 1040NR e-filing. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it has been around for over 30 days and no longer considered "New".
