Why is form 3800 unavailable on Lacerte? I have farm returns due Friday March 1st and the form is unavailable. Lacerte told me it would be available March 7th well after the deadline.
ProSeries user here, but same issue. And this has been an issue since 2019 with Intuit. But in discussing with another provider in town here, they use UltraTax and no issues. Just had a Support gentleman explain that the issue was with IRS and their form was in development yet. So how was UltraTax able to not have problems, but Intuit is? Since 2019, year after year? Smoke screen? Redirect? Overburdened development team? Either way the buck stops with Intuit.
Hi @MN preparer @wjgutcpa @sjrcpa Following up on this.
For Lacerte: For 1040 returns, the needed calculations for Form 3800 have been released. Calculations for Elective Payments and Transfers are still pending product changes. For business returns, Form 3800 is still under development See here for more info.
"So how was UltraTax able to not have problems, but Intuit is?"
Intuit tends to blame the IRS a lot but other softwares don't seem to have the same delays that Intuit tends to have. Go figure.
Unacceptable answers for Form 3800. See other posts. Release as a watermark and allow us to paper file at a minimum!!!!
