Why is Fid SSN Field Greyed Out?

Folks:

I am doing a new fiduciary return.  I have entered the trustee's name and title in screen 1.  The Financial Institution EIN field is open to me but the Fiduciary Social Security Number field is greyed out.  Does anyone know why?

Micah

RE: Virginia

That's why.   Your state doesn't require the SSN info.  If you're still curious, add CA or NY to the state list and see the field frees up.

The info isn't needed for federal.

I come here for kudos and IRonMaN's jokes.

The field is needed only for several states, namely California, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and New York state returns, Plus Arizona Grantor returns enter the Grantor SSN to print on Form AZ 141.

For what state is your 1041?
