My client is married filing joint return with one dependent. They received 1200.00 each in 2020, and 600.00 each 2021. They received 500.00 in 2020 for their dependent, and 600.00 in 2021. The program is giving them 1100.00 credit on tax return for 2020. The program is giving them 1100.00 Recovery Credit on their return. It looks like they are receiving the payment for their dependent twice?

@Mosby the taxpayers did received EIP for the child. Try splitting the kid and using 1200 + 250 each for payment one and 600 +300 each for the 2nd payment.
I believe it also will work if you give the child to either taxpayer or spouse, i.e. 1200/1700 and 600/1200.
Are you entering that they received $2900 for the first one, and $1800 for the second one?
So let’s calculate the first rebate check they shout get 2400 plus a kid which makes it 3000 right
the second check they should have received 600 per person since they are 3 person they should have gotten 2400
Is this the nunber that is adding up on your recovery rebate worksheet look at lime 16 and 19 again on what you enter on rebate worksheet
@conveniencebrokerage Please check your math and the amount per first and second.
