Proforma'd returns

I went through the normal Proforma wizard process and none of my returns are showing up in 2024.  Am I forgetting something?

First - a warning.  It is way too early to transfer all clients over.  The software is just NOT ready for prime-time.  I transfer over a handful to use for projections, only.

Close 2024 & then re-open it (if you haven't).   That can trigger the roll-over.

Double check your data path, that's usually the problem. Especially if you are networked.  Start the proforma process again, and take careful note of where the files are being sent.

Yes thank you.  I think it's going to be the data path issue.

Remember that Lacerte's pro forma process defaults to "put the NEW files being created in the SAME SPOT as the old files being used for the rollover".

So, put 2024 pro format in the 2023 data path.

This is great and convenient and all...  for exactly ten [10] years.  At which point your X1234.id5 data file from 2015...  gets overwritten by your X1234.id5 data file from 2025.

We do not permit Lacerte to use default data paths for diddly.  We keep each year completely separate.  We keep each MODULE separate.  (So the 23ind, 23did, 23sco, 23cor, 23par directories all exist.  They will roll to the 24ind, 24fid, 24sco, 24par, 24cor directories correspondingly.)
