I'm wondering if anyone knows if prior year prep fee will return to screen 5.1? 2009 - 2022 is there, but now 2023.
When did you process your proforma from the prior year? If you are not seeing this, I suggest you do the Proforma again for those clients you have not yet done input for. IT IS THERE ON MY RETURNS which I did not proforma until a week ago.
I always put a Prior year fee column on the home screen. Lacerte 2023 showed amounts without a hitch. It did not populate on the home screen when I did my 2024 proforma (all zeroes), although the 2023 fee transferred into Client Detail just fine. What can I do to make it show up?
Probably not what you want to hear but I'm not having an issue with either of the scenarios. Not even on clients I proforma-ed back in Nov to do projections.
1) make sure both 2023 and 2024 programs are updated.
2) proforma a handful of clients again (ones you haven't done any work on in the 2024 file, or you'll lose that input).
Hopefully updating will trigger the info.
@abctax55 what I meant was I see it in the detail for all of the small number of clients that I prepare. Not MY returns. It is in MY CLIENT'S returns.
@mbataxhorse and @js12 Now that I more fully understand your question I do possibly see what you are saying. Just for fun in the Settings > Options > Display I added columns for Prior Year Fee and Total Fee (this years calculated fee) and I do see that you seem to be asking. Both are zero UNTIL you enter the client. Just enter the client file and then exit, you will populate the Prior Year Fee. Enter the client file and go to forms then exit and it will show both numbers, even if you did not make any entries.
