Asking for some help
Client is MD manufacturer
MD permits federal 179 without MD decouple
I can't seem to find a way for lacerte MD depreciation to allow full 179
Only limits to the $25
Was hoping to not have to manual override the DM
Thanks for any help

And now after deep research...MD did NOT re-couple with federal depreciation with regards to expensing of property for a manufacturing taxpayer
That tax bill was withdrawn in 2022 and I mis-understood the Admin Release.
Apologies to all who may have spent any time on this.

In the MD Information is there a place to indicate they are a manufacturer?
Yes there is a box..but it does nothing.
I think there used to be a"box-to-check" to indicate..but that isnt there now.
I just cannot find a way for the software depreciation to allow the full 179 (as it does on the federal side)
There is not even an "over-ride" ability...tried that.
I think my only option is to hand-schedule the MD depreciation for current year...override the DM..and then I think, I will be able to override the prior 179 next year.
Was hoping some of my MD colleagues with a manufacturing client had dealt with.
I think the other complication is ..not all depreciable assets are manufacturing depreciable.
And then..maybe I am mis-understanding the MD Admin Release.
It looks like MD permits full 179 for a manufacturer.

Re-Opening this original question and comment.
I closed it with a "resolved"..but after further research..and request for clarification on MACPA board...
MD DOES permit full 179 for a manufacturer (as well as SDA). No decouple.
And Lacerte MD depreciation will NOT let me take the full 179 (past $25).
there is no override ability.
Looks like a manual depreciation accounting and override the DM totals..and then, maybe for 2025 I can override MD depr prior 179.
Lacerte appears to fail on this part; cannot locate any work-around.
If you see something I don't..would appreciate any comments.
