Filing Error

Just received this error:

The program did not successfully transmit this tax filing. The filing failed pre-submission validation.

Failed transmission on January 17, 2021

Validation Failure: Error 709: Duplicate Social Security Number/Employer Identification Number - The Lacerte Electronic Filing Center is currently processing a filing with this Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number. You cannot e-file this filing again at this time.

Is there away to track where the duplicate filing occurred?

Are you attempting to file a 1040/1041? If so, that can't happen until February 12, 2021. 

If it is a business return, you may have a problem.

Sounds like someone already filed a return for that EIN.

Did you possibly file the return, when you meant to file the extension? That would mean you should now file an amended return, but you need to confirm what was in the return you incorrectly filed when  you meant to efile the extension.

No year end 10/31/20. Just had client meeting and received signed 8879. This was the initial filing.

Need to contact the IRS and see what options I have
