I just added a new partnership and entered the EIN and Lacerte overrode what I entered and auto-filled it with a random EIN from a drop down list. Why in the world would the client EIN have a dropdown?
This is the first time this has happened and there was no way to override back to the EIN I originally entered. Other options from the dropdown list (mind you, I'm in the EIN field for the new partnership) were all occupations (Retired, waiter, farmer, etc). What the heck is going on?
I went in to an existing file and deleted the EIN and it did the same thing when I tried to put it back in. The only way I could get it to work was right click on the dropdown list and "add" a new ein so it would appear in the list.
We've had this happen to us multiple times, a fix would be nice.
That won't fix Lacerte replacing entries with other entries. Do you have this issue and fixed it this way?
Yes, that's basically the fix I found, but that's a huge problem if you can't add a new EIN without it being in the table. This should not be a dropdown field.
Agreed, it is not a fix or the correct way of doing it. The program needs to be fixed.
