I kn ow I can't efile 2017 federal 1040's until January. but what about Calif 540's?

California is standalone/direct for e-filing and California does not have a shutdown for e-filing like the iRS.  This means you should be able to e-file CA-540.  See these articles below for more info:

My recall is you need uncheck the fed e-file box in screen 1. Try without doing this and let us know.

I cant file, 2017 540 Ca, It starts converting, but it ends with same, return ready to transmit. I have uncheck fed, checked state, no errors. What else can I do. I just did 2016 last month
