It’s been a frustrating experience using Lacerte so far in 2025, and I’m feeling as though Intuit is sending the message, "We don’t care about you; maybe you should find another tax software." I hope that’s not truly the case, but here are the issues I’ve encountered this year:
1) Mail Labels Don't Print:
In both the Lacerte 2023 and 2024 programs, mail labels do not print correctly. As a workaround, I had to export the client database to Microsoft Word and complete a mail merge manually.
2) Couldn’t Post a Complaint Using Google Chrome
When trying to post a topic/complaint in this very forum using Google Chrome, I repeatedly received a "bad request" error message. I had to switch to Microsoft Edge to post successfully. It just makes issue worse that the very board designed for feedback doesn't work.
3) Credit Card Payment Issues
While renewing my subscription on Intuit’s site, the system kept rejecting my payment, claiming the 3-digit security code was incorrect—even after entering it correctly ten times. As a result, I had no choice but to pay with my bank account, missing out on credit card rewards.
4) Zero Phone Support
When I contacted customer support about the payment glitch, I was funneled into a menu tree that only directed me to self-help articles. No live human assistance was available, which is incredibly frustrating for an issue that couldn’t be resolved without intervention.
5) Intuit Tax Advisor Glitches
The Intuit Tax Advisor product promises 3 free client plans but has never worked for me. Due to a glitch on Intuit’s end, I cannot connect the program to my license, leaving it entirely unusable. I can only connect this ITA program to clients in Intuit Link.
All this tells me that Lacerte would prefer that I look for an alternative software and find another company to address my needs.
