what is the solution for this diagnostics ref.#41208

e-file: Form 540: Per California FTB Electronic Filing Specifications, If Electronic Funds Withdrawal (Direct Debit) is requested on the return, the Amount You Owe, before interest and penalties are applied, must have a value. This return may still be filed electronically if the direct debit request is disabled (ref. #41208)

My client has 0 tax due but owes $1,281 in penalties.

Could you do something to make there be $1 tax due? Like some kind of other tax?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Have the client use https://www.ftb.ca.gov/pay/bank-account/index.asp to pay, or just wait for a billing from FTB to be sure the penalties are up to day.

Curious George would like to know what penalties?

Don't forget the interest on HSA for California!

Don't forget the sales tax on all that stuff ordered on TEMU!

Thank you, I actually did that by adding a $1 use tax.
