Does anyone have any suggestions to measure and monitor turnaround time for tax returns using Lacerte and/or Intuit Link? For example, if a tax return is sitting with a preparer or reviewer for more than 7 days I would like to be able to see that so I can help follow up and manage the tax return projects.
You would need to create F3/filters. For each step.
I would suggest a group name of Stagnant 1 Week, with Sub-groups specified for <this F4/status step> date. You will have to manually change each one each time, because Lacerte has no way to interpret "today minus 7 days".

You set up an ODBC connection for that year/module, load the data file into your spreadsheet program, and WITHOUT MAKING ANY CHANGES TO THAT FILE, set up your sheet of calculations & metrics to show what you need to know.
(Steve has 3 files not yet started, 5 started more than a week ago & not yet sent to Review, 4 on Review for more than a week, and everything else is billed & to the client. Both Steve and his reviewing Partner need to explain stagnant files...)
I belive that is the Data6 file (for F4/status dates & initials), and Data7 is [federal-only] forms included. Unless I have them backwards.
