How (& Should) I report salary and taxable RRSP income from Canada before moving to US, on US tax return?

If a person (Canada Citizen) moved from Canada to US Permanently in March of the tax year. I understand he will be treated as Resident alien for US tax filing.

How should he report his salary and RRSP income from Jan and Feb from Canada (foreign country) on US tax return?

Is there any tax credit or income exclusion benefit available?

US citizen/Resident alien? Or Canadian citizen?

His US tax return filing begins in March, unless he makes an election to be treated as a US resident for the entire year.
