Taxpayer need to do the online verification to access the account, hence looking for 14 digit e-file acknowledgement number. The IRS is not accepting the number provided by the EF center.

This does not sound right.

Taxpayer would set up their own account with user name/password or ID.ME at https://www.irs.gov/payments/online-account-for-individuals

This phantom 14 digit number is not from their e-file via Lacerte. That number is a Submission ID which has more numbers and includes alpha characters.  SAMPLE 9442032025097000j8tcq
